There haven't been any warning lights or messages. An extended warranty has been bought through Korner Stone.  Korner Stone will not cover the repair/replacement of the unit even though seatbelts and air bags are safety components of the vehicle, and the warranty is supposed to be bumper to bumper.  (The clause is written in their fine print of their contract.
