At the end of the ramp, she stopped and tried to make a left turn onto [XXX] northbound.  The vehicle was still in Electric mode (plenty of battery life remaining).  The Jeep crawled through the intersection, with the accelerator all the way to the floor.  [XXX] feared that she would be struck by oncoming traffic.  The gas motor did not activate until sometime after she cleared the intersection.  At that point there was a message on the dashboard \"Electric Mode Unavailable\".  The Jeep switched itself to Hybrid mode.  For the next two miles the Jeep ran utilizing the gasoline engine.  The Jeep traveled erratically.  It would slightly speed up and then slightly slow down.  It was unable to maintain a constant speed.  After two miles [XXX] stopped at a red light.  The gasoline motor shut off.  When the light turned green, she was able to easily travel the next mile home utilizing battery power only.
