At around 47000 miles the radiator fan gave out. Ours caused our car to overheat on the highway and start smoking. We took it to a repair shop and got it fixed for between $1000-1500. At that time, we saw plenty of users reporting the same issue around the same mileage mark. It has now been two years since that repair and our fan is starting to squeak and make noise again like it did the few months before it gave out the first time. Our mileage is now 57,000 and I expect we will need to replace our fan within the next 6 months. Also, when trying to get the fan replaced, it is often on back order which our mechanic found interesting\u2014showing this must be a common occurrence with these vehicles. Not only is this a safety issue, it will have costed us almost 3k within 3 years.
