The vehicle had previously received the GM L87 engine recall remedy. Despite the recall being completed, the engine failed, leaving me and my family in a dangerous situation. The vehicle is currently at a GMC dealership and is available for inspection upon request. The sudden loss of engine power on a busy interstate created an immediate safety hazard. Traffic was traveling at highway speeds, and the vehicle rapidly lost the ability to maintain speed, increasing the risk of being struck from behind or being involved in a serious collision. My family was in the vehicle at the time, making the incident especially concerning. The GMC dealership has confirmed that the engine failure is related to the L87 engine issue and advised that the repairs will be covered under the applicable warranty/recall-related coverage. Additionally, after the original recall service was performed, an expanded recall was added to my VIN, further indicating that the original remedy may not have fully addressed the underlying defect. The vehicle is currently being inspected by the authorized GMC dealership. Prior to the engine failure, there were no warning signs indicating an imminent catastrophic failure. The recall service had already been completed, leading me to believe the vehicle was safe to operate.
