Upon coming to a complete stop at intersections, the engine shuts off as designed, but fails to automatically restart when the brake pedal is released. The vehicle completely locks up, leaving my family stranded in live traffic and requiring a manual reset of the ignition, which takes time to restart several minutes or longer. The local Honda dealership states they cannot duplicate the intermittent issue, posing a severe ongoing safety hazard. Honda has a ticket open for the year of my Honda but has yet to approve or make a fix. It's happened several times first notice it back on XXX and Honda dealer could not duplicate the issue so they did nothing. It has happened several additional times before now but this last time it happened XXX we were on a highway at night and it almost caused us to be rear-ended. The first times it happened back in XXX I sent them a photo of the dashboard light up when it was stalled, but they said they couldn't duplicate the issue and did not fix anything. This was all done through First Texas Honda in [XXX], which is where the vehicle is at now.
