My vehicle was included in Nissan campaign P0A08/NTB21-047 involving brake fluid and the ABS actuator. Before the campaign, I had experienced an intermittent braking problem during a loss-of-traction/ABS event.  When Nissan performed P0A08 on 8/8/2023 at 191,017 miles, I specifically reported the problem. The Nissan repair order states: \u201cCUSTOMER STATES IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO FLOOR.\u201d  The ABS actuator passed Nissan\u2019s campaign inspection, but because of my complaint, the service manager contacted Nissan/WCC regarding actuator replacement. The repair order states: \u201cSERVICE MANAGER CALLED WCC TO VERIFY COVERAGE OF ABS ACTUATOR AFTER IT PASSED INSPECTION FOR RECALL.\u201d Nissan case J0003385169 was opened. The intermittent condition could not be duplicated during a test drive, so the actuator was not replaced.  On 8/20/2026, ABS, BRAKE, SLIP and VDC OFF warning lights began illuminating while driving. Nissan diagnosed ABS code C1140 \u2013 ACTUATOR RLY. After further testing, the Nissan repair order states: \u201cCIRCUIT GOOD\u2026 INTERNAL CONCERN WITH ABS ACTUATOR.\u201d Nissan now recommends replacing the ABS actuator.  My safety concern is that this is the same actuator that passed the P0A08 inspection and remained in service despite my documented brake-pedal-to-floor complaint. I ask NHTSA to review whether the P0A08 inspection/remedy adequately identifies intermittent ABS actuator failures and whether similar vehicles may remain at risk.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2010","productMake":"NISSAN","productModel":"MURANO","manufacturer":"Nissan North America, Inc."}]}]}
