At approximately 5,141 miles, an independent repair facility documented gold-colored shavings/material in the engine oil filter. The filter has been preserved. My VIN currently shows no unrepaired recall. I have formally notified Toyota Motor Sales and requested that Toyota identify what stop-sale, recall, inspection, remedy, or other corrective procedure was performed on this specific VIN before it was released for sale. The composition and source of the material have not yet been determined.
