This issue is tied to a known premature failure of the front drive axles and constant velocity (CV) joints, which is currently the subject of federal class-action litigation ([XXX], et al. v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc.). The progressive failure of these critical drivetrain components presents an immediate safety risk. Degraded axles and CV joints can lead to sudden loss of propulsion, unexpected steering stiffness, or a complete loss of vehicle control while turning, creating an extreme hazard on public roads. Despite Honda acknowledging this issue internally via a Tech Line Summary Article, the manufacturer has failed to issue a safety recall to replace these defective components with a permanent, structurally sound fix. I am submitting this complaint to urge the NHTSA to open a formal safety investigation into the 2024\u20132026 Honda Prologue drivetrain assemblies to compel a nationwide safety recall before an axle failure results in an accident.
