This creates a safety risk when pulling into traffic, crossing an intersection, turning into traffic, or accelerating from a stop or slow speed because the vehicle does not accelerate as expected, increasing the risk of a collision.  We live in a rural areas where we pull onto high speed roads.  My wife is scared to take the car after a close call when the car would not accelerate.  The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times for evaluation. However, the dealership has been unable to reproduce the condition and has returned the vehicle without repair. The issue remains unresolved and continues to occur intermittently.  The dealer said they are seeing this in other Toyota Crowns and they don't have fix unless they can reproduce the problem.
