While she was completely stopped at a stop sign the vehicle spontaneously caught fire. Description of the Issue and Damage: 1. There was no collision, impact, or external trauma prior to the fire. 2. There were no check engine lights, overheating warnings, or malfunction indicators on the dashboard leading up to this event. 3. The vehicle has been properly maintained and unmodified. 4. The fire originated spontaneously within the engine compartment. As documented in the attached photographs, the thermal event was heavily concentrated on the passenger side of the engine bay. 5. The fire escalated rapidly, resulting in the total destruction of the engine bay, the melting of the passenger-side front fascia and alloy wheel, the destruction of the structural fender, and severe thermal damage to the hood and lower windshield area. 6. My wife was thankfully able to immediately evacuate the vehicle before the cabin was engulfed, escaping physical injury, but she was placed in extreme danger due to this sudden defect. 7. The local Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2019","productMake":"BMW","productModel":"X3","manufacturer":"BMW of North America, LLC"}]}]}
