We got home, made an appointment and after a couple days (we are 90 miles from the dealer) the car suddenly fixed itself.  Dealer said \"next time it happens bring it in\".  Yeah, these things only happen in the middle of nowhere at 10 pm.  The car is brand new. I see there have been recalls in the past with issues like this on hondas.
