It would not start and had to be towed to an authorized Land Rover dealer.  The dealer's diagnosis (RO 645537, JLR Technical Assistance case TA 4202195) found the TCU offline, the main battery tested good, and fuse RF20 blown. The replacement fuse also blew. Power and ground checks confirmed the TCU was internally shorted. The TCU (part LR091250) was replaced at a cost of $3,041.24.  Before the failure, the infotainment system had persistent navigation and Bluetooth faults. Land Rover issued a software over-the-air update for the problem, which repeatedly failed to install. Land Rover advised a manual software update at the dealer, but the TCU failed before that appointment. The battery had also been replaced earlier after a low-battery warning despite low use.  Safety concern: an internal module short that drains the battery can disable the vehicle without warning, leaving occupants stranded, and a component shorting internally raises a potential electrical fire risk.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2020","productMake":"LAND ROVER","productModel":"RANGE ROVER VELAR","manufacturer":"Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC"}]}]}
