The equalizer also had cracked welds because of the incident.  Thankfully the front of the leaf spring was still attached.  This RV issue may be related to the widely documented frame flex issue.    1) The RV is at home in my storage shed.    2) Our safety and other motorists were put at risks because if the axle would have completely detached from the frame, it could have caused a catastrophic accident. 3) The broken leaf spring has been removed (picture of broken leaf spring, and equalizer attached).  I plan to have a certified NRVIA inspector come inspect the unit.  No other inspections have been completed as this just happened recently. 4) There were no warnings ahead of time about the leaf spring failure.  I have reached out to Grand Design about coverage for the repair and they said they won't do anything because it is out of warranty.  I further asked what their recomendations are and they have yet to respond.
