The recall repair was performed by an authorized Grand Design dealer. After the recall-related condition/repair, I discovered a broken bolt in the rear suspension/shackle-hanger area and abnormal/uneven tire wear. I returned the trailer to the authorized dealer because of concern these conditions were related to the recalled suspension system. The dealer inspected the trailer and documented that all six leaf springs are sagging and losing normal curvature, along with wear to related suspension components, bushings and hardware. The dealer also documented premature/uneven wear on all six tires. The dealer requested authorization to replace all six leaf springs and related suspension components/hardware, replace all six tires, and then perform a complete axle/running-gear alignment. Recall 26V-044 states the U-bolts may loosen due to inadequate clamp load at the axle-to-spring interface and instructs owners with indicators of a compromised suspension or prior failure to contact a Grand Design dealer for diagnosis. Despite these documented findings, Grand Design denied the requested suspension and tire repairs on 9/30/2026 with \u201cDenial Code: 10 - Unit Out of Warranty,\u201d and stated the leaf springs, wet bolts, bushings and mounting hardware are wear items. I am concerned that damage potentially resulting from the recalled axle/U-bolt condition is being treated as an expired-warranty issue rather than a safety-recall issue. A suspension bolt has already broken, all six springs are now documented as sagging, and all six tires have abnormal wear. The trailer/components are available for inspection. I request NHTSA review whether these conditions are related to Recall 26V-044 and whether the recall remedy adequately addresses resulting suspension damage and safety risk.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2023","productMake":"GRAND DESIGN","productModel":"MOMENTUM","manufacturer":"Grand Design RV, LLC"}]}]}
