The vehicle does not stop normally or immediately after the brake pedal is pressed, creating a serious safety concern. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealer, who recommended replacement of the brake booster and master cylinder. The dealer also recommended replacement of the ECU and hydro unit associated with the braking system. However, Ford has reportedly informed the dealer that the required ECU is not currently available. I have found several complaints from other owners describing similar brake-related symptoms, including a very stiff brake pedal, hissing noise, and reduced braking effectiveness. Despite these reports, Ford has not adequately addressed what appears to be a potentially serious and recurring safety issue. A sudden loss or significant reduction of braking assistance can substantially increase stopping distance and may result in a collision, particularly in an emergency situation. This is a serious safety concern for the occupants of the vehicle and other road users. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and determine whether there is a safety defect affecting these vehicles. I also request that Ford be required to provide an appropriate and timely remedy for affected vehicles, including vehicles for which replacement parts are currently unavailable.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2013","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"EDGE","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]}]}
