When I wrote to Porsche regarding the failure, they tried to indicate or even suggest that this is normal wear and tear and the price of vehicle ownership. That is not a valid statement! This failure is considered premature and there is considerable documented evidence and concern widespread throughout the internet to back up this claim. It cost us almost $9000 to repair and almost a month of being in the shop. This is a significant repair and we actually took considerable time to not only research the issue, but quote the repair with other shops since Porsche wanted almost $15000 to conduct the repair. We would like this investigated as well as find out if there is any form of compensation we can seek due to the issue.
