The vehicle has approximately 71,521 miles and still has its original engine. A Ford dealership inspected and diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed coolant intrusion into the engine. The dealership recommended replacing the engine long block, which represents a major engine repair at relatively low mileage. Despite the dealership's confirmed diagnosis, Ford has not offered to cover the cost of the repair and expects me to pay for the engine replacement myself. I am concerned about the safety and reliability of this engine defect. Coolant intrusion can lead to engine misfires, loss of power, stalling, and potentially complete engine failure while driving. A sudden loss of power in traffic or at highway speeds could create a dangerous situation for the driver, passengers, and other motorists. I believe this serious engine problem warrants further investigation, particularly given the vehicle's mileage, the confirmed dealership diagnosis, and the substantial cost of the required repair. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this engine issue and determine whether additional safety action is warranted. I also request that Ford review this failure and consider covering the cost of the necessary engine replacement.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2016","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"EDGE","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]}]}
