After changing the pan I experienced that during acceleration such as on ramp, merging, or passing engine would suddenly lose all power, Fords warning chime would alert me and message on dashboard- Low Engine Oil Pressure - it takes the system a while to regain power again. This could have serious consequences if you were passing or trying to merge and the engine totally shuts down. Afterwards, I reviewed the Dorman design and discovered that they didn't add a baffling to the oil sump pickup and only provided a. slot in the pickup tube. The original pan has a baffle which keeps the oil flowing into the engine. This is a serious flaw which could cause injury not to mention destruction of the engine due to oil starvation. I have contacted Dorman and they are requesting purchase information for a refund.
